Favorite Picnic Spots in The Kamptal Region
Being based in one of the most celebrated wine regions in Austria - Kamptal and greeting the holly Heiligenstein every day to work, or taking the local highway nr.35 past more than dozen of wine cellars, locally called Kellergasse is a choice of lifestyle, of course, but above all it is passion for wine culture in general.
Surrounded by vineyards, watching the sun rise and set on the vines of Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, taking off road tracks to find the best picnic spots or just wandering and greeting a local winemaker who has stopped by to check the soil, has developed a dose of curiosity in us. We have gained some documentalist skills, gathered stories, interviews and photos, we no longer wish to keep for ourselves, but share instead. MY WINE ZEIT is a lifestyle and design journal, covering topics such as culture, food, design and travel all with a strong connection to wine, wine growing and people behind wine.
Let us start with 3 favourite picnic spots of the region.
EDITOR’S NOTE: don't forget to grab a bottle of wine from the Ursin House in Langenlois. They have the widest selection of sekt and wine from the Kamptal region, which will bring you even closer to the terroir thinking, and, actually, drinking.
